A beautiful time lapse video, filmed by Iker Llona, showing a day in the kitchen at Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastian - Donosté, Spain. I really enjoyed writing for this short piece, and may create an extended version of the song when time allows.

One piano, two different tunings. An experiment in layers and texture. April is the month of the piano!

This is a remix of the song “Best Friends” the 4th track on my new album “Retinae”.

Number 1 in a series of 12 Free Monthly Releases!

This track is a Trans-Atlantic collaboration between Eric Maltz and Monica Kisic. Perfect for a morning coffee in Berlin, an afternoon flight to Bilbao, or watching the sunset from a Brooklyn rooftop.

The cover image of my newest album, Retinae. Created by artist and sculptor Greg MacAvoy http://www.gregorymacavoy.com Here’s some info about the record:

Retinae is the creation of Eric Maltz. It’s is a bona fide full length album from a nyc musician who has spent years as session player, commercial composer, producer, and member of the band Peculiar Gentlemen.

Retinae is hours of late nights and early mornings in Brooklyn lofts and NYC studios. Reverb soaked keyboards, lush drum kits, and precise, almost melancholy vocals hover above cracked streets, empty warehouses, busy intersections, and sky scrapers.

The first track of my new record called “Down to Earth”. It’s a simple home made video of the beautiful moon from my Brooklyn rooftop.

Cover art from the Peculiar Gentlemen album Banana Flock. It’s a fruit cart on 14th street I would walk by late at night, and every time I would think, damn thats a good looking fruit cart. So I took a picture, and we made it into an album cover. Jon Legere hooked up the layout and fonts. http://www.jonlegere.com/

This is an electronic arrangement I did of the C#minor Prelude from the Second Book of Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier. Dan Degloria created the beautiful stop motion animation for the video. This is probably one of my favorite music/video projects.

Once upon a time I made Hip Hop beats, well, actually, I still do. This beat I wrote many moons ago, but these cool and talented MC’s heard it and wrote a song to it, then they made this amazing video. Noah and Dotropolis are heavy hitters, and Michael Dechillo shot an amazing video. http://www.brightlightsny.com/

Gidgetsparks! This is a crazy collaboration between myself and visual artist Nina Palucci. http://gidgetsparks.tumblr.com We’ve been working together for a while, this is the latest music video and release, an ode to her cat Henry

The Dissapointment is a great band I record Piano and Keyboards with. http://www.areyoudisappointed.com Their fearless leader, Chris Peck, is a very talented and hard working singer and songwriter. This was recorded live and Dubway Studios in NYC.
